FAQ

What age group are these piano books for?

This piano book is specifically designed for the youngest learners aged 3+ old, but ALL learners can enjoy and benefit from this series. The numeric system makes it easy for anyone to start playing songs immediately, without needing to read traditional music notation.

To be successful with these books, children will need to know numbers 1 to 12 to begin level 1. To progress to levels 2 and 3, learners will need the finger dexterity and fine motor skills to move each of their fingers independently. This is generally around 3 or 4 years old, but every child is different.

How is this book different from other beginner piano books?

One of the top reasons kids quit piano? It’s hard. They get overwhelmed at the steep learning curve and want to run away from the discomfort of doing new hard things. As a result, they miss out on the incredible developmental benefits and the joy of expressing themselves through music.

But we have a  better way. By slowing down the initial learning process and emphasizing play, we can set our kids up for success. Unlike traditional beginner piano books that require reading music, our book simplifies the process by using a number system. This approach removes the complexity of learning music theory and allows children to focus on playing and enjoying the music from day one. When they’re having fun in a low-pressure environment and learning at a pace that builds their confidence, we pave the way for a lifelong love of music.

How does the numbered key system work?

The numbered key system in our book replaces traditional music notes with numbers that correspond to specific keys on the piano. Each number represents a specific key, and the book guides your child step-by-step through familiar songs, making it fun and intuitive to play. Each book provides clear instructions for setting up the piano and how to place numbered stickers on the keys.

Does my child need any prior music experience?

No prior music experience is necessary! This book is designed to be accessible to beginners, even if they’ve never touched a piano before. The simple, number-based system allows children to start playing their favorite songs right away.

What do I get when I purchase the piano book?

When you purchase the book, you'll receive a digital download that includes the full piano book in PDF format. This allows you to print the book at home or use it on a tablet or computer. The PDF format makes it easy to use and accessible anytime, anywhere. You will have full lifetime access to redownload and access this book anytime.

How will my child benefit from learning music?

Beyond the joy and expression of playing music, studies have repeatedly shown the process of learning music has incredible benefits.

The scientific research points to increased confidence, improved memory, emotional expression and regulation, hand eye coordination, and so much more through learning music.

What number stickers should I use on my piano/keyboard?

Writing the numbers on painters tape is both an effective and budget friendly solution. You could alternatively also cut up post-it notes for an even less “adhesive” solution.
